The Planning and Transportation Services Section of the Department of Community Development includes two units that are engaged in current or short-term planning and in long range transportation planning needs.
The Planning Division staff provides support for the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustment and is primarily involved with a wide range of city-wide planning issues.
JCTV, Channel 81, broadcasts the Planning and Zoning Commission meetings live at 5:15 p.m. on the date of the meeting. JCTV rebroadcasts the meeting on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.
The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, or CAMPO, is involved in the administration and guidance of long-range transportation planning for the larger community that makes up the Metropolitan Planning Area. This area includes portions of Cole and Callaway counties and the cities of Holts Summit, St. Martins and the City of Jefferson.
Planning Services operate under the supervision of Janice McMillan, AICP, Deputy Director.
