Start Smart Golf (ages five to seven) was developed to assist young children, in learning the basic skills necessary for a successful first time experience in organized sports.

It allows children the opportunity to work one-on-one with their parent and teaches children a variety of basic skills. These programs meet weekly for one hour. The first session for each sport will be a parent informational meeting to introduce the parents to the Parks and Recreation staff and go over the goals and format of the program.

Golf 2008

Start Smart Golf uses positive reinforcement and FUN activities while teaching the participants the motor skills necessary to play golf. Start Smart Golf utilizes the SNAG coaching system, a unique patented system that moves parent-child groups through four stations: putting, chipping, pitching and full shot. Exercises become increasingly more difficult as the class progresses and the children show improvement.

This is a seven week, six lesson program beginning Tuesday, April 29, and is held at the Oak Hills Golf Center. All equipment will be provided for use during each lesson.
