The Health Division’s mission is to utilize education and code enforcement in order to maintain or improve the environmental health status of which citizens and visitors live, work, and interact within Jefferson City. The Division aims to prevent disease and maintain sanitation by promoting issues such as recycling, hand-washing, and mosquito control. The Division’s main duties include food inspections, nuisance abatements, vector control, and solid waste disposal.
