The Department of Community Development's Planning and Transportation Services includes two units that are engaged in current and short-term planning and in longer range planning associated with transpor tation needs.
The Planning Division staff provides support for the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustment and is primarily involved with a wide range of city-wide planning issues.
The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, or CAMPO, is involved in the administration and guidance of long-range transportation planning for the larger community that makes up the Metropolitan Planning Area. This area includes portions of Cole and Callaway counties and the cities of Holts Summit and St. Martins as well as the City of Jefferson.
These two planning units operate under the supervision of Janice O. McMillan, AICP, Deputy Director, Planning and Transportation Services.
