City Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month at 6:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall which is located at 320 E. McCarty Street. If a Council meeting Monday falls on a holiday, the meeting is held on the following day (Tuesday) at 6:00 P.M.
Agendas for City Council meetings are prepared the week before the meeting, and the Council packet of all materials which will be discussed and acted upon are distributed to the Mayor, Council, staff, and media on Thursday afternoon. A "public copy" of that information can be viewed by citizens in the City Clerk's office, and copies can be made upon request at a charge prescribed by Missouri law.
A "Brown Bag" work session, which is a public meeting, is held on Friday at noon to discuss the items in the packet and allow the Council and staff to request and provide further information if needed.
Following the Brown Bag meeting, a copy of the final agenda, with links to associated legislation, is posted as the "online packet" on the website Friday afternoon following the Brown Bag work session.
A brief "pre-meeting" work session is held at 5:45 immediately before each Regular City Council meeting to finalize any details for that evening's meeting and to make note of added requests from citizens who wish to make presentations before the Council.

Presentations from the Gallery
City Council agendas allow for citizen comments under the "Presentations from the Gallery on Specific Ordinances and Resolutions" and "Presentations From the Gallery on Other Topics."
If you wish your name to appear on the published agenda to make a presentation to the City Council, call the City Clerk's office at 634-6311 before 5:00 P.M. on the Monday preceding the Council Meeting. However, a citizen does not have to appear on the agenda to make a presentation. If you wish to make a presentation after the agenda has already been published, the Mayor gives an opportunity at the beginning of each Regular Council meeting for additional citizens to be listed for presentations.
When you come forward to make your presentation, you will be asked to provide your name for the official record before you begin speaking, and reminded to limit your remarks to five minutes or less.
Public Hearings
If you wish to speak at a legally designated "Public Hearing," there is no need to sign up ahead of time. The Mayor will make a public call for all those wishing to speak to the issue of the public hearing, and anyone desiring to do so will be given an opportunity to speak.
All official meetings of the City Council, boards, commissions, and committees will be posted on the meeting calendar. City Council meetings and Council Standing Committees will also include a link to agendas for public viewing.
