Bob was born in Jefferson City. He and his wife, Betty, moved to the Third Ward in 1992. They are proud parents of two adult children, Brad and Lisa. Bob has always enjoyed playing whatever sport is in season. Now that he is older, he enjoys golf, backyard wiffle ball and the occasional game of "HORSE." He is an avid fan of Cardinal baseball and Missouri Tiger football and basketball. Bob is employed by Humana Insurance Company, and is a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he sings in the Choir and serves on the Board of Trustees.
Bob's experience as a business owner and manager began early in life. At age 16, his summer job was managing one of his father's service stations. In 1970, at the age of 19, he became an equal partner in a truckstop / service station venture with his father. Later that year, he expanded the scope of his business enterprise by purchasing a tractor & semi-trailer leasing business from a local businessman. In 1977 he sold his business interests, and went to work as an Assistant Manger in charge of Sales for MFBM Inc., a member service subsidiary of Missouri Farm Bureau.
In 1979 Bob was promoted to General Manager of MFBM, Inc, where he spent the next eight years managing the multi-million dollar subsidiary. The next ten years he served as Director of General Services / Special Services, where he was responsible for six departmental budgets, and the management of personnel who maintained the corporate headquarters, 112 remote offices throughout the state, telecommunications, purchasing, fleet management, print shop, supplies, microfilming, and records management. After leaving Farm Bureau in 1998, Bob worked as a sales manager for a computer sales and service company, and sold computer-based document imaging systems. In 1998, he and his wife, Betty, started Inches-A-Weigh, a women's health and fitness franchise, that is managed by Betty.
Bob obtained his insurance license from the State of Missouri in 2004, and has worked with people who trust him to help provide protection for their families' lives and assets ever since.
