The Jefferson City Fire Department provides Fire, Rescue, EMS and Hazardous Materials response to it's citizens with 3 Engine Companies, 2 Rescue Companies and 2 Ladder Companies. The JCFD also operates several Rescue Watercraft, a Hazardous Materials Trailer, Foam Trailer, a Trailer equipped with a set Stanley Rescue Tools for Building Collapse and a Trench Collapse Rescue Vehicle. Reserve Apparatus consist of 3 Engine Companies and a 75' Snorkel Company.
In 2006 the Fire Department responded to 4031 alarms.
