The First Baptist Church Fire on the corner of Monroe and Capital street. The fire was reported by a Union Pacific Railroad employee and a police officer. Companies remained at the scene through the night. The Jefferson City Fire Department received mutual aid from Columbia. The fire originated in the 3rd floor storage area in the north east corner of building. Holts Summit, Cole County and Cedar City Fire Departments covered the empty Engine Houses.
