There was fire in 6 buildings, 401, 403, 405, 407, 409 and 411 W. McCarty. The Fire was reported by a bus driver to the Fire Department when sparks were seen coming from the rear of the row of stores. The fire started in the service drop and burned above the false ceiling. All 3 engines and the Aerial Ladder were at the scene along with 20 firemen. The Fulton Fire Department sent 2 Pumpers and 2 Firemen. Destroyed were Temple Stevens Grocery and Drug Store, Davis Cleaners, Ross HiWay Store, and Capital Auto Parts.
