What's Happening in Old Town?

In April 2007, the City Council established an area within Jefferson City as "Old Town District".  It was formed to designate an area for future redevelopment and reinvestment by the public and private sector.  The designated area is basically the original "old town" Jefferson City and represents the historic core (heart) of our community. Brown Printing
411 Madison St.

Brown Printing is redeveloping the site to improve the building and location for their business. Previously at 413 Madison St. an old house had been "built around" and used as a warehouse. (See above left picture.) Late this summer the old house warehouse was demolished and a more efficient, yet compatible building is being constructed.

This older hotel has been under redevelopment for over a year. The construction at the corner of Monroe & Miller Streets will be the lobby, swimming pool and workout area for the new Double Treet Hotel. This looks like a great addition to Old Town!
