Parks and Recreation Commission
It is the mission and responsibility of the City of Jefferson Parks and Recreation Commission and the staff of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry to improve the quality of life for residents of the Jefferson City area by providing for the diverse leisure, recreation, community forestry and open space management and preservation needs of present and future generations.
The Commission and Department was created to acquire, manage, preserve and improve a quality system of parklands, open space greenways and recreation facilities and to develop and supervise a broad program of quality educational and recreational activities for all ages.

William Lockwood - Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry
Director Lockwood has a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Park Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was hired as the Director of Parks and Recreation in November 1982. He serves as the Director and Executive Secretary for nine member citizen administrative Park and Recreation Commission. He also serves as Director of Forestry and as staff liaison to the City Council, Mayor, City Administrator, Commission Committees, and Advisory Groups in addition to being Executive Director of Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Foundation.
Amy began working for the City of Jefferson in February 1994 and joined the Parks and Recreation Department in October 1999. She serves as the Secretary to the Parks and Recreation Commission, Recreation Services Committee and Park Resources and Planning Committee. Amy also serves as the Secretary to the Parks and Recreation Foundation which provides support for various outside organizations. She oversees the front office operations, processes payroll and is responsible for personnel records.
Dotty is a 1999 graduate from Arizona Western College where she received an Associate of Arts Degree. She has been with the Department since August 2000. She processes accounts payable, assists staff members with budget, administration and accounting tasks, and serves as the Secretary for the Park Resources and Long Range Committee.
Amy joined the Parks and Recreation Department in January 2008 as a Customer Service Representative. Amy is responsible for customer service including activity registrations and facility reservations for the Department. She also serves as the Secretary for the Long Range Planning Committee.
Mandy joined the Parks and Recreation Department in January 2008 as an Office/Recreation Assistant. She is a 2007 graduate of William Woods University where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing. Mandy is responsible for customer service including activity registrations and facility reservations for the Department. She also assists the Recreation Supervisors with various programs and events.
