The Department of Parks and Recreation offers youth baseball leagues for boys 9 and under through 18 and under. All participants must register by 5 p.m., March 14 according to their age as of May 1, 2008. After 5 p.m., March 14, players are not guaranteed placement on a team. Coaches will contact their players when teams are formed. In pitching machine leagues, teams will be formed by school. In live pitching leagues, each manager may freeze five players. All other players are randomly and anonymously assigned. Once teams are selected, players will not be switched from one team to another for any reason. Players not contacted by April 7 should call the Parks and Recreation office at 634-6482. Games begin the week of May 12 and the last possible make-up day is August 2. |
Sponsors are needed for 9u through 18u leagues (please call 634-6482 for more information).
8u Mini-league baseball teams will be provided with Major League Baseball uniform shirts.
Players furnish their own gloves, pants, socks, and shoes. Metal spikes are not permitted.
EVERYONE PLAYS!
1) Continuous batting order and unlimited substitutions are used in all leagues for any player who has been to practice and has not been a discipline problem.
2) No participant will sit out more than two innings defensively in any game. Rules mandating infield playing time are used in pitching machine leagues only.

Registrations received after 5:00 p.m., March 14, 2008 are not guaranteed placement on a team.
Fees will increase $10 for those allowed to register after the March 16 deadline in leagues where there are still spaces available.

* When registering your child, please list the school code displayed below as the activity number code. (ie. if you are registering for 8u baseball and your child attends Belair Elementary the activity number would be 122283-B).
