In the past, some senior residents have received calls from con artists stating that the senior
had won $5000 in the Powerball lottery game and they needed to call to claim their prize.
Anyone receiving such a call should immediately question its legitimacy because how would the
caller know that they had won a prize; only the ticket holder knows that information. When the
target victims called the number back, the con artist wanted their credit card and bank account
numbers before they could claim their prize. Please do not give out this information or any other
personal information over the telephone if you don't know who is on the line.
