The Jefferson City Police Department’s Crime Prevention Program is managed by Officer Kevin Kempker of the Community Services Unit.
Officer Kempker has received the Crime Prevention Specialist certification, as well as certification for Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).
Officer Kempker is trained in specific areas of crime prevention to include personal safety, senior safety, workplace violence prevention and identity theft. We are here to help our community establish active Neighborhood Watch programs, assist businesses and homeowners with preventing crime, and work with the Community Action Team to address neighborhood issues and facilitate problem-solving methods.
The Community Services Unit is often present at safety fairs and other functions throughout the City to provide information on a variety of crime prevention topics.
The following list represents the numerous Crime Prevention programs that the Jefferson City Police Department can present to you or your organization upon request.
Each program can be individually designed to meet your needs by combining or condensing topics. Our goal is to present a program that will last approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour in length.
All program presentations offered through the Community Services Unit are available,
free of charge, to organizations conducting meetings in Jefferson City.
A minimum of three weeks notice is required to request a presentation.
These programs will typically be taught by an officer assigned to the school as either a DARE Officer or the School Resource Officer.
