Revisions to CAMPO Public Participation Plan

Public comment is invited on proposed revisions to the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Public Participation Plan (PPP). Copies are available for inspection at the Missouri River Regional Library, County Clerk Offices in Cole and Callaway counties, City offices of St. Martins, Holts Summit, Lake Mykee, Taos, Wardsville and the City of Jefferson City Clerk offices; and on the CAMPO website at A public hearing on this matter will be held in Room #200, John G. Christy Municipal Building, 320 E. McCarty Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101 on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 12:15 p.m. At the hearing interested persons will have an opportunity to comment. If no substantive changes are made, this will be the final notice and the Draft Revisions as currently proposed, or as amended, may be adopted by the Board of Directors on March 18, 2015, following the public hearing. Persons wishing to comment on the PPP may appear at the public hearing or provide comments in advance. Requests for special accommodation should be directed to the CAMPO Administrator in advance of the meeting. All public and agency comments received prior to or during the public hearing, including oral recordings, will be transcribed for inclusion in the adopted plan. Comments should be directed to CAMPO, c/o Planning and Protective Services, Room 120, John G. CAMPO is administered by the Jefferson City Department of Planning and Protective Services; phone 573.634.6475. Individuals should contact the ADA Coordinator at 573.634.6570 to request accommodations or alternative formats as required under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Please allow three business days to process the request. Interpreters or sign language professionals will be available upon advance notice of seven calendar days. Public Participation

The CAMPO public participation and involvement process is designed to give the public ample opportunities for early and continuing participation in critical transportation projects, plans and decisions and to provide full access to key decisions. 


Public Participation Plan

The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization encourages the involvement of interested groups and the general public during the development and modification of transportation plans.  All meetings of the CAMPO Technical Committee and Board of Directors are open to the public.  CAMPO’s Public Participation Plan outlines the public notice, comment procedures and the process used to support citizen participation during development of transportation plans.
